On board the Queen Elizabeth, Maiden World Voyage

Hey everyone, well this is the first entry onto the blog section of the website. I am currently on board the Queen Elizabeth, Cunards brand new ship. I feel like I am on the titanic with it being so new! Everything is so clean, so precise and the attention to detail is amazing! I got into my cabin and there was Champagne waiting on Ice so I really couldn’t complain! I had however lost both my bags at JFK airport so it had been a bit of a nightmare the first 24 hours or so. So currently have no suits and no music for practice! With a concert tomorrow at 2pm this could all prove quite interesting! The three Cunard ships are all gathering together later tonight and sailing out of New York in procession so the amount of press and security in the area is pretty substantial. I better get to work but will be updating this blog on my travels on both land and sea.

Really hope you like the new look of things on the site and take care, David x

Home time and a little bit of pressure...

Getting back home after a brief stint in the Caribbean was very nice…well for a few hours at least before the reality hit of how much work there is to get through over the next few weeks! Having eight different programmes to perform in April means time is slightly stretched for foreseeable future. This is not helped by the fact the performances don’t stop for this to happen, so it is long hours at the moment and some serious brain work. But nothing black coffee can’t solve!

The concerts over the next couple of days are now clustered together so, even though slightly more tiring than first thought, it will give me about four days in the middle of the concerts to try and memorise the final sections of the new programme….We are not worried just yet.

The summer charity concert is now confirmed for the 25th of June and so is my trip to Serbia after which I hope to spend a week or two off before getting back to practice for August.
